KILLEWALDS STOPS 51 AS GOPHERS TIE BULLDOGS

herMinnesota (24-5-1, 17-2-1 WCHA) goalie Erica Killewald stopped 51 shots and Nadine Muzerall scored her national-best 40th enable the Gophers to tie Minnesota-Duluth (19-3-3, 17-1-2).

Minnesota took the lead early as Kelly Olson scored on the power play at 8:09 of the opening period. UMD would carry a 2-1 lead into the final period as former Gopher Jenny Schmidgall scored with 6:53 left in the opening period and Erika Holst scored her third of the weekend 7:28 into the second period.

The Gophers' national-best power-play came to the rescue in the final period as Muzerall extended her goal-scoring streak to 15 games with her 15th power-play goal of the season.

Killewald was the story of the game. She stopped 14 shots in the opening period and 16 in the second and third periods, making another five in overtime. Tuula Puputti had 31 saves, including four in overtime.
