hasUniversity of Minnesota senior associate athletics director Donna Olson earned a Special Merit Award at the 2000 National Women and Girls in Sports Day at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Olson, who has worked for the Minnesota Women's Athletics Department since 1985, was selected for the award by the Minnesota Coalition to Promote Women in Athletic Leadership.

Olson has been a lead administrator in many Big Ten and NCAA championships hosted by the Minnesota Women's Athletics Department. In addition to her work with Minnesota's teams and coaches, she has also worked other national and international events, including managing the site for basketball at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
