Ronda Curtin scored just 43 seconds into the game and linemate Nadine Muzerall scored less than three minutes later. When Laura Slominski scored at the 4:12 mark, Maverick goalie Katie Beauduy had seen just five shots and was replaced by Jennie Padgett, who went on to record 21 saves.

Slominski also scored later in the opening period and joined both Curtin and Muzerall scoring twice on the evening. Muzerall also had two assists and extended her goal-scoring streak to 13 games, matching the Gophers' winning streak. Ambria Thomas extended her point-scoring streak to 13 games with a goal and an assist.

Katie Ingram scored two of Minnesota State's goals while Kim Corona added a power-play tally.

Minnesota is in action again this weekend in a key conference battle, facing league-leading Minnesota-Duluth Friday and Saturday nights at 7:05 p.m. in Duluth.
