BEUCKENS BREAKS ALL AROUND RECORD AGAINST IOWA STATE

Beuckens set or tied career highs on all four events in scoring a total of 39.450, surpassing the previous record of 39.325 set by sophomore teammate MaryAnne Kelley on Feb. 20. Beuckens tied for second on both the floor exercise (9.925) and balance beam (9.850). She tied for fifth on uneven bars with a personal-best 9.875 and on vault with a career-high 9.80.
Minnesota set a school record on the floor exercise with a total of 49.50. Kelley won the event with a personal-best score of 9.95, which ties the school record. Beuckens was second at 9.925. Senior Judy Cavazos and freshman Jenny Alf each scored 9.90, while senior Melissa Chang scored 9.825.
Chang and Kelley tied for second on the uneven bars with identical scores of 9.925, the second-highest score in school history. Junior Megan Skokut tied her personal best with a 9.90. The Golden Gophers scored 49.0 on uneven bars.
Freshman Leigh Dixon tied the second-best vault score in team history in winning the event with a personal-best 9.90.
Minnesota travels to Penn State for the Big Ten Championships on March 18.
