MEN'S GYMNASTICS TEAM DEFEATS NEBRASKA

Freshman Clay Strother won two events for the Golden Gophers including tying the school record on the floor exercise, which he set earlier this year scoring a 9.95. He also took first place in the pommel horse with a 9.90. Minnesota dominated the pommel horse scoring 39.325 as a team sweeping the top three places in the event. Senior Chad Conner took second with a 9.875 and senior Lindsey Fang was third with a 9.850.
Sophomore Justin Conner also scored a career-high in the all- around with a score of 55.925, placing second behind Nebraska standout Derek Lieter with a 58.200. Conner took first place in the parallel bars with a 9.675 and was third on the floor exercise with a career-high 9.675. He was also third on the vault with a 9.425.
The men's gymnastics team will travel to Iowa City, Iowa next weekend to compete in the Big Ten Championships.
