WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES SEVENTH IN INDIANA; BAKKEN TAKES FOURTH

The Minnesota women's golf team finished in a tie for seventh place at the Indiana Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. The Gophers improved their team score by nine strokes in the second round to shoot a 323 and finish at 655 for the tournament.

Indiana, the host school, won the tournament with a team score of 627, two shots better than Ohio State. The Gophers and Purdue tied for seventh among the 10 Big Ten schools competing in the tournament.

Individually, Katie Bakken posted the best Minnesota score of the tournament, shooting a 2-over-par 76 in the second round. She finished the tournament in fourth place with a 7-over-par 155, just two strokes behind individual medalist Theresa McDermott of Indiana.
