MUniversity of Minnesota co-head coaches Jim and Meg Stephenson announced that Tara Schroeder of Rogers, Minn., has committed to the women's gymnastics team as a walk-on.

Schroeder, competing for Maple Grove High School, won 2000 state titles in the all around and floor exercise after placing second in the all around in 1999. Maple Grove placed second as a team her senior year. She is the 2000 Twin Cities Suburban Conference and region all around champion.

Schroeder was named the national vault champion by the National High School Gymnastics Coaches Association based on her average vault score.
