CHIMKO 12TH IN JAVELIN, GOPHERS FINISH 52ND AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

UniveMinnesota senior Nicole Chimko placed 12th in the javelin throw on the final day of competition at the NCAA Track and Field Championships at Duke University's Wallace Wade Stadium.

As a team, the Gophers finished tied for 52nd, scoring its three points Friday when junior Aubrey Schmitt placed sixth in the shot.

Chimko, competing for the third consecutive year, claimed her 12th-place finish with a throw of 157 feet, three inches.
