CHELTON NAMED ASSISTANT ATHLETIC TRAINER

tThe University of Minnesota Women's Athletics Department announced today that Jen Chelton has accepted the position of assistant athletic trainer. Chelton's primary responsibility will be serving as the trainer for the Minnesota soccer and softball teams.
Chelton earned her undergraduate degree at Marietta College in Ohio in 1989 and her master's degree in Physical Education and Human Movement Studies from the University of Oregon in 1992. After her experience at Oregon, Chelton became an assistant athletic trainer at Pepperdine University, and was promoted to the head athletic trainer position in 1995. She was responsible for all 14 Division I sports at the Malibu, Calif. school. Chelton also served as a trainer for the 1999 Women's World Cup in Los Angeles.
