GOPHER WOMEN'S GOLF IN FIFTH PLACE AFTER DAY ONE

Senior Katie Bakken is tied for fifth place with 7-over par 151. Bakken carded a 1-over par 73 in the day's first round but dropped to a 78 in the second round. Sophomore Karyn Stordahl is in a tie for eighth place at 152, 8-over par. Junior Megan Stier was tied for first place after shooting a 1-under par 71 in the first round, but then turned in an 85 to fall to a tie for 19th at 156 after 36 holes.
Senior Jenny Bruun, playing as an individual, is also among the top 20. Bruun is tied for eighth at 152 after rounds of even-par 72 and 80.
The Gophers were one stroke off the lead after the first round, carding a team total of 300 after 18 holes. Minnesota stumbled in the second round of the day, falling off the pace with a total of 322.
The tournament will conclude with 18 holes on Tuesday.
