NIMTZ, EGGLESTON LEAD GOLD TO VICTORY IN ANNUAL INTRASQUAD MEET

Nimtz covered the 5,000-meter course in 18 minutes, eight seconds, while Eggleston was just four seconds behind. Frosh Darja Vasiljeva, Laine Misch and Laura Bjork were fourth, sixth and eight respectively, for the Gold.
The Maroon's top finisher was sophomore Chrissy Eid, third in 18:46. Junior Victoria Moses was fifth, sophomores Anita Menden and Lindsay Feder, seventh and ninth, and frosh Krista Anderson 10th to complete the team scoring.
Minnesota opens its 2000 season Friday, Sept. 8, when it hosts Drake in the first "Oz" Memorial Run, honoring former Drake head coach Gary Osborn, at 4 p.m.
