GOPHER SOCCER LOSES AT MICHIGAN

GophThe Minnesota soccer team saw its record fall to 3-5-0 overall and 1-2-0 in Big Ten play with a 4-0 loss at Michigan on Sunday.
The Wolverines (4-4-0, 3-1-0) scored two goals in each half off Gopher goalkeeper Julie Eibenstiner and the Gopher defense. Michigan outshot Minnesota by a 30-20 margin in the match. Twelve of Minnesota's shots were on goal, compared to 14 for Michigan.
Michigan grabbed a 2-0 lead on unassisted goals by Kacy Beitel at 12:59 and Stephanie Chavez at 28:22. The Wolverines added goals by Abby Crumpton at 71:33 and Abby Tompkins at 87:35 in the second half.
Suzie Grech collected 12 saves in net for the Wolverines, while Eibensteiner was credited with 10 saves.
