GOPHER SOCCER DEFEATED BY MONTANA, 3-1

tThe scoring drought continued as the Minnesota soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Montana in a match played in Evanston, Ill., on Friday. The Golden Gophers, 2-2-0 on the season, have scored just three goals in their four matches this season.
Senior Laurie Seidl gave Minnesota a 1-0 lead with a goal at the 25:47 mark off a pass from Alison Rackley. The Grizzlies managed to tie the score by halftime and scored two goals in the second period to capture the victory.
An efficient Montana offense scored its three goals on just 11 shots on goal. Minnesota fired 21 shots with Grizzly goalkeeper Natalie Hiller collecting 11 saves. The Gophers also held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Taking the loss in goal for the Gophers was junior Julie Eibensteiner, who tallied six saves.
Minnesota's next action is Sunday in Evanton versus Detroit Mercy.
