GOLDEN GOPHER WRESTLING TEAM RANKED NO. 2 IN COACHES POLL

GopheThe University of Minnesota wrestling team is ranked as the No. 2 team in the nation according to the Jan. 10 National Wrestling Coaches Association/TheMat.com college wrestling poll. The Golden Gophers are 5-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming to No.1 Oklahoma State in a 25-12 defeat in front of 9,566 fans at Williams Arena.

This season, Minnesota wrestles 10 schools currently ranked in the top 25, including No. 8 Nebraska tonight in Lincoln, Neb., and No. 11 Boise State tomorrow night in Boise, Idaho. The Golden Gophers open the Big Ten season at home versus Michigan on Friday, Jan. 26, at the Sports Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. The complete NWCA/TheMat.com rankings are below.
