University of Minnesota seniors Katy Christoferson (Burnsville, Minn./ Burnsville) and Tracy LaVoi (St. Cloud, Minn./St. Cloud Tech) earned weekly honors from the Big Ten Conference office Tuesday. Christoferson was named the co-swimmer of the week with Susan Woessner of Indiana, and LaVoi was named diver of the week for the second time this season.

Christoferson won three individual events and participated on a winning relay team as Minnesota defeated Iowa, 186-114, last Saturday at the University Aquatic Center. She won the 50 freestyle (24.27), 100 butterfly (56.49) and 200 individual medley (2:06.80), and helped set a meet record in the 200 medley relay (1:46.82).

LaVoi won both the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions in the dual meet against Iowa, leading the Gopher divers to a 28-10 advantage in the two diving events. She set a season-best in 1-meter diving (260.475) and barely missed a season-best in 3-meter diving (268.875). LaVoi has qualified for the NCAA Zone Diving meet in March.

The 20th-ranked Golden Gophers are 4-0 in dual meet competition this season. Minnesota will travel to Madison, Wis., for the two-day Quad Duals against No. 13 Wisconsin, Purdue and Illinois, beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
