139.Brigham Young used the depth of its distance contingent to edge Minnesota by 15 points and claim first place at the Minnesota Classic.

The Cougars scored 156 points to beat out Minnesota with 139. Texas-Arlington was third with 77 points followed by Marquette with 37.

The Gophers were led by double-winner Tahesia Harrigan, who set school records in both the 60 and 200-meter dashes.

Harrigan, as she did last week, set a record in the 60 prelim, putting up an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 7.42 seconds in her preliminary heat. She then established the record in the finals of 7.35. Her time of 24.47 in the 200 also established a new school mark.

Minnesota had two other records fall. The 4x400 relay team of Shani Marks, Amber Day, Harrigan and Jessica Shuster turned in a winning time of 3:47.19 while Aubrey Schmitt's winning throw of 63 feet, one and one-quarter inch in the weight throw was also a new mark as well as a provisional qualifying effort.

The Gophers' other victories came from Day in the 400 and Marks in the 600.
