REYNOLDS NAMED ASSISTANT TO THE ATHLETICS DIRECTOR

WoThe University of Minnesota Women's Athletics Department announced today that Billie Reynolds has accepted the position of assistant to the athletics director. Reynolds, who will report directly to Women's Athletics Director Chris Voelz, will begin her duties Monday, January 8.

This position is a reclassification of an existing executive assistant position. It is a part of the director's commitment to provide a foundation for professionals into the administrative ranks of collegiate athletics.

"I am thrilled to have hired such a driven, ambitious professional whose commitment to collegiate athletics will enhance our efficiency and effectiveness," said Voelz.

Reynolds earned her bachelor of arts degree in corporate communications at Queens College in North Carolina in 1997 and her master of science degree in sports administration from Georgia State University in 1999. While she was earning her master's degree from the Atlanta school, Reynolds worked with the special events staff with the Atlanta Hawks, was a graduate intern in the ticket office at Georgia Tech and was an administrative assistant/facility coordinator for Georgia Tech's tennis center. Reynolds also has professional experience with Forever Sports, Inc. and the Randstad Staffing Agency.
