POHL HONORED AS WCHA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

sweep, Junior forward John Pohl has been named WCHA Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in last weekend's sweep at Alaska Anchorage. With the sweep, the Golden Gophers moved to within one point of first-place North Dakota in the WCHA.
Pohl, a native of Red Wing, Minn., led Minnesota's efforts with three goals and two assists in the two-game sweep. In Friday's 3-1 win, he scored a pair of goals, including the eventual game-winner, and assisted on the other. On Saturday, he added an assist and an empty-net goal in a 4-2 victory.
With his five points over the weekend, Pohl moved past the century mark in career scoring with 101 (37 goals, 64 assists). This is the third time he has been named WCHA Player of the Week during his career.
