MCCOMB NAMED BIG TEN ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

leUniversity of Minnesota junior Will McComb has been named the Big Ten's co-Athlete of the Week for cross country. The native of Port Elgin, Ontario led the Golden Gophers at the Pre-NCAA/Furman Invitational on Saturday placing 18th in the 223 runner field, running a 25:04 8K. Minnesota finished 14th among the 35 teams competing. McComb shared the conference honor with Wisconsin's Matt Tegenkamp.

The Golden Gophers will next be in action on Oct. 28th at the Big Ten Conference Championships in Champaign, Ill. Minnesota will also have runners competing at Saturday's Marathon Sports 5K hosted at Les Bolstad Golf Course.
