The University of Minnesota women's soccer team fell to the No. 24 Michigan Wolverines Friday, 2-0. The Gophers drop to 4-9-0 overall and 3-6-0 in Big Ten play.

With 18 minutes on the clock, Michigan got on the board with an unassisted goal to give the Wolverines the 1-0 advantage over the Gophers.

Michigan's next scoring opportunity would not come until the second half when Liz Dosa emerged from a pack of Gopher defenders and slid a shot under the arms of Minnesota goalie Julie Eibensteiner (North Oaks, Minn./Totino Grace).

Michigan outshot Minnesota, 12-6. The teams had one corner kick apiece while Eibensteiner recorded four saves.

Minnesota will head to East Lansing, Mich. on Sunday, Oct. 21, to face the Michigan State Spartans, at noon.
