SCHILLING TO TRANFER FROM MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM
10/29/2001 12:00:00 AM | Men's Basketball
ScHead men's basketball coach Dan Monson announced today that junior guard Shane Schilling has decided to transfer from the University of Minnesota. Schilling started 31 games in 2000-01 and averaged 8.4 points per game.
"Shane will definitely be missed," said Monson. "We want to thank him for his contributions to the Golden Gopher basketball program over the past two years. Any loss like this, with our scholarship limitations, hurts our program. But, we have confidence that our players will step up and cushion the blow of Shane leaving."
"I think this is the best thing for me at this time of my career," said Schilling. "I want to thank the U of M for the opportunity to play Big Ten basketball and wish my teammates and this program all the best this season. I regret any inconvenience this may cause the program and would like to thank the people of Minnesota who have supported me throughout my career."
