MINNESOTA DROPS ONE TO INDIANA, 3-1

The University of Minnesota women's soccer team fell 3-1 on Friday night against Indiana University. Minnesota's record falls to 3-6-0 overall and 2-3-0 in Big Ten play.

Minnesota scored the only goal of the first half as sophomore forward Rachael Roth (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) managed to blast a goal off an assist from teammate senior midfielder Samantha Meyers (Frederick, Md./ Jefferson). Roth's shot was long ball over the defending goalie at the 11 minute, 20 second mark.

Indiana forward Kara Bryan scored twice in the second period, as Hoosier Kim Grodek closed out the scoring just after the 88-minute mark.

The Hoosiers outshot the Gophers by a margin of 15-11, including a shots on goal 9-7 advantage.

Minnesota will continue its homestand on Sunday, Oct. 7 as the Gophers host the Purdue Boilermakers at 1 p.m.
