WOMEN RUNNERS TAKE SECOND AT REGIONALS, QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS

Dyer ran a career best six-kilometer time of 21:30.9, the sixth best all-time 6K in Minnesota history. Finishing right behind her was sophomore Laura Bjork who placed 13th overall and second for the Gophers with a career best time of 21:31.5, the seventh best all-time 6K in Minnesota history. Sophomore Darja Vasiljeva, who finished third at the 2000 NCAA Regional Championships, placed 18th overall and third for the Gophers, running 21:45.7, the 12th fastest time in school history. Dyer, Bjork and Vasiljeva all were selected to the All-Region team.
Senior Victoria Moses placed 25th overall with a time of 22:02.5, the 18th fastest 6K time in school history, and junior Anita Menden finished 29th running the 6K race in 22:06.5. Wrapping up for the Gophers was sophomore Krista Anderson and senior Amy Sas, who finished 50th and 58th, running career best times of 22:31.4 and 22:49.5, respectively.
The Gophers travel to Furman University in Greenville, S.C. to compete in the 2001 NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 19 at 12:15 p.m.
