MINNESOTA SWIMMERS AND DIVERS WIN MINNESOTA INVITATIONAL

The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Terry Silkaitis, Todd Smolinski, Matt Taylor and Allen Ong finished first with a time of 3:00.80. Ong also won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 44.85, 1.23 seconds faster than freshman teammate Christian Anguis who placed second.

Minnesota took the top four spots in the 200-yard breaststroke with junior Jeff Hackler winning in a time of 2:00.91, followed by Brain Porter (2:03.20), Chris Forrest (2:04.98) and Dov Malnik (2:05.03).

Sophomore Justin Mortimer< /a> placed first in 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 15:09.45.
