HORAK NAMED WCHA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Colleg Jody Horak becomes the fourth Gopher to be named as the Western Collegiate Hockey Association-Women's League Rookie of the Week. Horak, a goalie for the Gophers, earned a win against then No. 2 Dartmouth and a tie against then-No. 3 New Hampshire. For the weekend, Horak had 74 saves allowing five goals for a 93.9 percent save percentage. In the Dartmouth game, Horak had a career-high 43 saves, as the Gophers were outshot 45-21 in the contest. In five games played, she is undefeated holding a 4-0-1 record.

Horak joins newcomers Kelly Stephens (Shoreline, Wash./Shorewood), Brenda Reinen (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) and Kristy Oonincx (Moose Jaw, Sask./College of Notre Dame) to gain rookie of the week honors.

Fourth-ranked Minnesota will take its eight-game unbeaten streak on the road as the Gophers face 10th-ranked Wisconsin. Both games are scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start at the Capitol Ice Arena.
