GOLDEN GOPHER WRESTLING TEAM SIGNS TWO RECRUITS

The University of Minnesota wrestling team announced the signing of two top recruits to join the Golden Gophers in the 2002-03 wrestling season. Willy Holst and Cole Konrad, both Wisconsin residents, have signed letters of intent.
Holst will join the Maroon and Gold as a 2001 Wisconsin state high school champion and a Junior National Champion. A native of Prescott, Wis., Holst is projected to wrestle at 125 pounds. He is currently ranked eighth at 103 pounds on Amateur Wrestling News? high school rankings.
Konrad hails from Freedom, Wis., the hometown of sophomore Golden Gopher All-American heavyweight Garrett Lowney. Konrad, also a heavyweight, is a Junior National All-American and a 2001 Wisconsin state placewinner. He is currently ranked seventh at heavyweight on AWN's high school rankings.
