ROCKY'S RUN DRAWS LARGE CROWD, CELEBRATES WEATHER

cOn a beautiful fall day at the Les Bolstad Cross Country Course, over 150 runners participated in the memorial race, Rocky's Run, in memory of Rocky Racette, a former All-American in track and cross country at the University of Minnesota who died in an auto accident on October 17, 1981. Charles Hubbard from Bloomington, Minn. won the five-kilometer race in 16:18, while former Gopher Rasa Michniovaite finished first for the women, seventh overall, running 17:47. Joey Keillor from Rochester, Minn. won the 8K with a time of 26:07.

Finishing first for the Minnesota women's cross country team in the 5K was first-year athlete Kimberly Magee, running a 16th place time of 18:55. Magee was followed closely by first-year athlete Zoe Nagell who ran the 5K in 19:02. Junior Crystal Glenn finished 19th overall and third for the Gophers with a time of 19:09.

The Gophers travel next to Carbondale, Ill. to compete in the Midwest Regional hosted by the University of Southern Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.
