BAUM BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD, GOPHERS MOVE INTO SIXTH

InvitatiJunior Dana Baum helped University of Minnesota women's swimming and diving team moved up into sixth place after the second day of the Georgia Invitational by breaking the 200 freestyle school record.

Baum swam a second place finish time of 1:47.75, breaking her own 200 freestyle record that she set last year. The time is an NCAA automatic qualifying time and the sixth fastest time in the nation. First-year athlete Paige Gilgan swam a personal best time of 1:51.48 to tied for seventh place in the 200 freestyle.

Sophomore Juleen Rodakowski finished seventh in the 100 butterfly with a NCAA consideration time of 55.70, the 17th fastest time in the nation. Junior Keri Hehn swam a season best time, NCAA qualifying time of 1:03.15 in the 100 breaststroke.

The Georgia Invitational wraps up tomorrow, Sunday, Dec. 2.
