PURDUE WINS BIG TEN TITLE OUTRIGHT WITH VICTORY OVER GOPHERS

Seventh-ranked Purdue (24-4, 14-1) received little resistance from the Gophers. The Boilermakers took a 6-0 lead before Minnesota even attempted a field goal attempt and went on to a 45-25 halftime lead.
Minnesota hit just four field goals in the entire second half of play as the Gophers finished with 43 points, two points below the Boilers' first-half score.
Kadidja Andersson came off the bench to lead the Gophers with 12 points. Kim Prince added 10. Gopher leading scorer Lindsay Whalen was held to nine points, the first time in her Gopher career that she has been held below double figures.
All-American Katie Douglas led five Boilermakers in double figures with 21 points.
Purdue shot 52 percent from the floor and hit 12-of18 three pointers for 67 percent. Minnesota shot just 33 percent from the field and committed 24 turnovers.
The loss, Minnesota's eighth straight, drops its record to 8-17 overall and 1-13 in Big Ten play. The Gopher play host to Wisconsin on Thursday and travel to Michigan State on Sunday to complete the regular season.
