twNate Anderson scored the second of his two goals just 1:54 into overtime in Minnesota-Duluth's 5-4 victory over the Golden Gophers Friday night. The loss snaps Minnesota's nine-game win streak. The two teams meet again tonight at 7:05 p.m.

The game went back and forth all night as UMD got on the scoreboard first with Anderson's first-period goal. Senior Erik Westrum knotted the game at one at 16:43 of the period. For Westrum, the goal gave the captain his 50th point of the season.

The Bulldogs retook the lead as Tom Nelson notched a shorthanded goal in the second period. Again, Minnesota would rally and on the same power-play, senior Aaron Miskovich tallied his 12th goal of the season. Late in the period though, UMD's Mark Carlson gave the Bulldogs the lead once more.

Trailing 3-2 in the third period, Minnesota took its first lead of the game as junior Pat O'Leary and freshman Paul Martin scored midway through the period. The lead would not hold though as Matt Matthias scored an even-strength goal with less than three minutes to play which would send the game into overtime.

Junior goaltender Adam Hauser stopped 33 of 38 shots in the loss. The Golden Gophers now trail first-place North Dakota by four points, but still has two games in hand on UND.
