GOPHER WOMEN'S GOLF IN 14TH AFTER FIRST ROUND

OklaThe University of Minnesota women's golf team is tied for 14th place after the first day's action a the Midwest Classic on Friday. The Gophers tallied a team score of 326, while tournament leader Oklahoma State carded a team score of 295.
Junior Cindy Cannon led the Gophers with a 7-over par round of 79 to tie for 34th after the first round. Senior Jenny Bruun and sophomore Karyn Stordahl posted rounds of 82, while senior Katie Bakken and junior Megan Stier shot 83 over the first 18.
The 18-team tournament continues with 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday at the Hyatt Bear Creek Golf Course.
