GOPHER WOMEN'S GOLF IN 12TH AFTER SECOND ROUND

first-dayThe University of Minnesota women's golf team is tied for 12th place after the second day's action at the Midwest Classic in Dallas, on Saturday. The Gophers dropped eight strokes from their first-day score to card a team score of 318 on Saturday and has a total of 644 after the second round. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are tied for the lead at 603.

Jenny Bruun, Katie Bakken and Megan Stier all posted a 7-over par 79 on Saturday. Bruun and Cindy Cannon pace the Gophers on the 5,838-yard, par 72 Hyatt Bear Creek course with two-round totals of 161. Cannan shot an 82 in the second round, after carding a 79 in the first 18 on Friday.

Bakken and Stier have identical scores of 162 after rounds of 83 and 79. Karyn Stordahl is at 163 with round of 82 and 81.

The 18-team tournament concludes with 18 holes on .Sunday.
