oGolden Gophers To Compete At Boise State
No. 16 Minnesota competes at unranked Boise State on Friday.

The National Ranking
Minnesota is ranked No. 16 in the Feb. 26 edition of the GymInfo national ranking, based on regional qualifying score. RQS is determined by taking the top three road scores and the next three best scores, dropping the highest score, and averaging the remaining five scores. The Gophers moved down from the No. 14 spot last week despite posting a school-record 196.525 on Saturday.

Friday's opponent, Boise State, is not listed among this week's top 25. This will be the first unranked opponent Minnesota has faced this season, with the exception of the Best of Minnesota Meet.

Minnesota is one of six Big Ten Conference schools listed among the nation's top 25 teams. The Gophers are listed fifth among conference teams, behind Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State and Iowa. Michigan State is back in the top 25 this week after a one-week absence. Illinois is the only Big Ten school not ranked this week, although Illinois was ranked No. 22 last week. Minnesota's season average of 195.059 is higher than both Ohio State (195.0) and Iowa (194.834).

Junior MaryAnne Kelley (Barrington, Ill./Fremd) is listed fourth in the Big Ten on floor exercise with an RQS of 9.9 and fifth in the all around with an RQS of 39.16. Kelley is listed among the top 25 individuals nationally on both lists this week. She is 11th on floor exercise and listed 13th in the all around.

Gopher Floor Exercise Ranked Eighth
Minnesota is ranked eighth on floor exercise, with an RQS of 49.130. The Gophers are also listed among the top 25 for vault (No. 15, 48.720) and uneven bars (No. 18, 48.935). Minnesota's balance beam RQS is 48.285.

Gophers Post Two Other Top-10 Team Scores
Minnesota set season-highs on both vault (48.975) and balance beam (49.0). The vault score is the fifth-best in team history, while the balance beam mark ranks fourth all-time.

Kelley Wins All Around
MaryAnne Kelley won the all around with a total of 39.425. She set a season high of 9.925 on floor exercise to tie for first place, just off her career high and school record of 9.95 set last season, after recording five consecutive 9.90 scores on floor exercise. Kelley also scored 9.85 on balance beam and 9.775 on vault against Iowa State.

Kelley has won four all around titles and five floor exercise titles this season.

Norman Sets Career-High Vault Mark
Junior Courtney Norman (Minneapolis, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) shattered her previous career high on vault with a score of 9.875, surpassing her previous mark of 9.8 set the last two meets. She placed second, with MaryAnne Kelley and sophomore Leigh Dixon (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./The Bishop's School) right behind at 9.8.

Last Year Against Boise State
Minnesota faced Boise State at the Sports Pavilion on March 4, 2000, with the Gophers winning 194.450-193.350. Minnesota and Boise State competed in a tournament in 1989 in the only other meeting between the two teams.

Up Next
The Gophers return to the Sports Pavilion for the team's final home meet of the season on Saturday, March 10, when Minnesota faces Arizona.
