MINNESOTA WRESTLER ELZEN IS BIG TEN CHAMPIONSHIPS NO. 1 PRESEED

hiMinnesota junior wrestler Owen Elzen leads the list of Golden Gophers to compete at the 2001 Big Ten Championships at Northwestern this weekend with his No. 1 pre-tournament seed for the conference tournament. All 10 Maroon and Gold grapplers are listed in the preseedings.

The final seedings and brackets will be determined Friday, March 2 at the championship site, Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Ill. Competition at the 2001 Big Ten Championships begins Saturday, March 3 at 10 a.m. The top-ranked Golden Gophers look to unseat perennial conference powerhouse Iowa and capture the program's second Big Ten title since 1999.
