In the second, Westrum got the puck behind the net and centered the puck. While Pohl missed the put-back, Grant Potulny did not miss and collected his 17th goal on the year. Westrum struck again at 15:13. With the puck to right of Pateman, he skated in front of the goal and while falling, put the puck in the net on the backhand.

The Mavericks finally got on the board as Andy Hedlund beat Adam Hauser at 10:35 in the third period.

Hauser stopped 28-of-29 shots as he picked up his 20th victory on the year. He also helped hold MSU-M scoreless on eight power-plays.
