CHRISTOFERSON SCORES ON FIRST DAY OF NCAA MEET

ChampionshiMinnesota senior Katy Christoferson finished 16th in the 200 individual medley at the first day of the 2001 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Nassau Aquatic Center. She earned the Gophers' lone point on the first day of the three-day meet.
Christoferson qualified 14th in the morning trials in a time of 2:01.46 and finished 16th in the finals with a time of 2:03.33. Sophomore Dana Baum, Minnesota's other competitor at the NCAA meet, finished 19th in the 500 freestyle in a time of 4:48.52.
Christoferson will swim in the 400 individual medley and 100 butterfly on Friday, while Baum will swim in the 200 freestyle.
