BRACKETS RELEASED FOR 2001 BIG TEN WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPS

top-The brackets for the 2001 Big Ten Championships were released today, setting the stage for the much-anticipated battle for the conference title at Welsh-Ryan Arena at Northwestern University. The top-ranked Golden Gophers look to unseat perennial Big Ten power Iowa and gain the program's first Big Ten title since 1999.

The pre-tournament seedings for Maroon and Gold grapplers held in the final seeding meeting. First-round match-ups for Minnesota wrestlers follow below.

Competition begins Saturday, March 3 and concludes Sunday, March 4 at Welsh-Ryan Arena in Evanston, Ill.
