MINNESOTA WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD TEAM HEADS TO CALIFORNIA

Minnesota travels to Southern California to compete at the Pomona-Pizer Invitational on Friday, April 20, at the Long Beach State Invitational on Saturday, April 21 and the Mt. SAC Relays on Friday-Sunday, April 20-22.
Review: Jim Duncan Invitational
Sophomore Erika Findlay (Whitewater, Wis./Whitewater) tied the school's pole vaulting record and took first place with a vault of 12-feet and 3/4-inch (3.68m) at the Jim Duncan Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, April 14. Findlay tied Christine Gulbrandsen's vault from the 2000 outdoor season. Newcomer Monica Stearns (Wadena, Minn./Wadena-Deer Creek) captured second in the event with a career high vault of 10-11 3/4 (3.35m). The vault places her third on the school's top ten performers list.
Senior Aubrey Schmitt (Hastings, Minn./Hastings) and first year student Amy Netland (Bagley, Minn./Bagley) went one-two in the discus, throwing 162-9 (49.60m) and 145-4 (44.30m), respectively. Sophomore Heidi Crabtree (New Richland, Minn./New Richland) claimed fourth place in the event with a throw of 137-5 (41.90m).
In the 400-meter dash newcomer Rachael Schutz (Hastings, Minn./ Hastings) placed second with a personal best run of 58.88 seconds. First year student Jessica Mittelstadt (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West) placed third in the event with a time of 59.41 seconds. Mittelstadt also ran a personal best in the 200 with a time of 25.80 seconds.
