WOMEN GOPHERS NATIONALLY QUALIFY AT MT. SAC RELAYS

Minn./Hastings)Seniors Corinne Nimtz (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) and Aubrey Schmitt (Hastings, Minn./Hastings) both provisionally qualified on Saturday, April 21 at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, California for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Nimtz qualified in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:42.96, placing her 14th in the nation. Schmitt, who previously this season provisionally qualified in the shot put, qualified in the discus with a fourth place throw of 51.80 meters. The toss places Schmitt eleventh in the nation.

Junior Victoria Moses (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale) placed sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase recording a personal best time of 10:52.53. The run moves Moses from 33rd on the NCAA provisionally qualifying list to 30th.

Junior Jenny Moylan (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale) placed first in her heat in the 800-meter run with a season high time of 2:11.83. Teammates junior Jessica Shuster (Minneapolis, Minn./Minneapolis Washburn) and sophomore Tanna-Marie Simmons (St. Louis Park, Minn./ Wadena-Deer Creek) placed third and fourth, respectively, in their 800 heat with times of 2:11.35 and 2:12.65. Simmons time was her high for the season.
