GREAT GOPHER SPORTS AUCTION PROVES TO BE A SUCCESS

The sixth annual Great Gopher Sports Auction was another resounding success on Saturday night at Williams Arena. A full house bid on a variety of different items.
Some of the items available were road trips with the football and basketball teams, tickets to different sporting events around the metro area. Dinner for eight with Jeff Schemmel, Glen Mason and Dan Monson was among a number of items that proved too hotly contested for the silent auction and were moved to the live auction which followed.
Among those in attendance, were Mason and Monson, along with fellow Golden Gopher coaches Fred Roethlisberger, Dennis Dale and J Robinson. Other notables were Olympic gymnast John Roethlisberger and former Golden Gopher hockey star Lou Nanne.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Williams Fund and its support of men's athletics at the U.
