Minnesota co-head coach Lisa Bernstein became the winningest coach in Golden Gopher history with her 352nd career win, surpassing Linda Wells' total of 351 wins.
Ohio State took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a run-scoring single by Kristi DeVries. Minnesota tied the game in the third inning. Allie Fisk reached on a one-out error and advanced to third base on a two-out single by Veronica Roberts. Fisk scored the game-tying run on a wild pitch by DeVries. Minnesota won the game with two sixth-inning runs. After Tammi Hays led off the inning with a bunt single, Roberts hit a triple into the right-field corner, scoring Hays. Roberts also scored on the play when the throw got away from the Ohio State defense.
Piper Marten won her 21st game of the season, allowing two hits in the complete game and retiring the last 12 batters she faced. Marten did not give up a hit after the first inning. DeVries did not retire a batter in the sixth inning and took the loss.
The Gophers will travel to Wisconsin-Green Bay for a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday at 1 p.m.
