SULLIVAN NAMED WOMEN'S SENIOR ASSOCIATE ATHLETICS DIRECTOR

SullivaUniversity of Minnesota Women's Athletics Director Chris Voelz announced Sunday that Regina Sullivan has been named the Senior Associate Director of Women's Athletics, effective June 11, 2001. Sullivan replaces Donna Olson, who has been with Women's Athletics at Minnesota for the last 16 years.

"Out of a great pool of candidates for the Senior Associate Athletics Director position, we are thrilled to have attracted and hired Regina Sullivan," said Voelz. "She brings with her a tremendous set of experiences, philosophy, attitude that make a great fit for our department."

Sullivan is a graduate of Yale University and has a master's degree from the University of Tennessee. She has previously worked at Tennessee, the University of San Diego and the Women's Basketball Coaches Association. Since 1998, Sullivan has been the associate director of athletics at UC San Diego, where she also served as the Interim Director of Athletics from September, 1999, to March, 2000.

"I am pleased and excited to have the opportunity to join the University of Minnesota and its Women's Athletics Department," said Sullivan. "The program has a national reputation for providing an outstanding experience for its student-athletes. I look forward to being a part of its continued success."
