HANNAHAN NAMED THIRD TEAM ALL-AMERICAN BY COLLEGIATE BASEBALL

ConfeGolden Gopher thirdbaseman Jack Hannahan was named to Collegiate Baseball's All-American team Friday. The junior from St. Paul, Minn. led Big Ten Conference play in hits (43), runs scored (31), home runs (9), total bases (82) and slugging percentage (.766). Hannahan and the Golden Gophers are scheduled to play Louisiana State University Friday afternoon in the first game of the NCAA Regional in Baton Rouge, La. Junior right-hander Mike Kobow is scheduled to throw for Minnesota - the fourth seeded team in the four-team bracket. Freshman left-hander Lane Mestepey, also a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball, will throw for the top-seeded Tigers.
