SCHMITT CLEANS THE FIELD AT IOWA INVITATIONAL

sweepSenior Aubrey Schmitt had another outstanding meet at the Musco Twilight Invitational in Iowa City, Iowa on Saturday, May 5. Schmitt had a clean sweep of the field events by placing first in the discus, shot put and hammer throw.
Schmitt won the shot put with a throw of 48-feet, 4.25-inches and the hammer throw with a toss of 172-1. The Hastings graduate set a meet record with her throw of 168-6 in the discus, an NCAA provisional qualifying time. Schmitt has previously provisionally qualified in all three events.
Corinne Nimtz, a senior from Eden Prairie, Minn. ran a season-best winning time of 9:49.75 in the 3,000-meter run. Senior Amy Sas won the 5,000 with a time of 18:17.45
