coachBrad Frost, the interim second assistant coach for the University of Minnesota women's hockey team for the 2000-01 season, has been hired to the position on a full-time basis, Golden Gopher head coach Laura Halldorson announced.

"I am excited to add Brad to the staff on a permanent basis," said Halldorson. "He made a very positive impression on the team last year and did a great job working with our forwards. Not only is Brad a knowledgeable hockey coach, he's also a good person whose philosophies and priorities fit our program well."

Prior to coming to Minnesota, Frost spent one season as the assistant coach at his alma mater, Bethel College. Frost graduated from Bethel with a bachelor's degree in physical education in 1996 and was a four- time letterwinner and two-year captain for the Royals. He ranks eighth on Bethel's career points list.

From 1997-2000, Frost was the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach for the girls' ice hockey program at Eagan High School. He helped the Wildcats to a 72-8-1 record.

Minnesota finished the 2000-01 season with a 23-9-2 record and won its first WCHA Women's League regular-season title.
