GOLDEN GOPHER ATHLETIC TEAMS WILL NOT COMPETE THIS WEEKEND

The University of Minnesota has announced Thursday that all athletic competitions this weekend will be either postponed or cancelled."Despite a strong majority of Big Ten teams decision to go forward with competition as of yesterday afternoon due to a variety of issues and concerns, a number of Big Ten schools, including the University of Minnesota, will postpone all athletic competition this weekend," said Director of Men's Athletics Tom Moe.
"Every day brings a different look at this situation and today our university has decided that we should refrain from athletic competition this weekend and thus we will move forward accordingly," said Women's Athletics Director Chris Voelz.
When the rescheduling efforts are complete, any remaining ticketing issues will be addressed.
The events listed below are either cancelled or postponed.
Football - Minnesota vs. Baylor
Men's Cross Country - Minnesota at Brigham Young Invitational
Volleyball - Diet Coke Classic, Saturday-Sunday (Minnesota vs. Oral Roberts both days)
Women's Cross Country - Memorial "Oz" Run (Drake University), Saturday
Soccer - Iowa State vs. Minnesota on Friday; Detroit Mercy vs. Minnesota on Sunday (Iowa State match is rescheduled for Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.)
Women's Golf - Minnesota Invitational, Saturday-Sunday
