The Golden Gophers of Minnesota were defeated by the Cincinnati Bearcats with a score of 2-0.

Cincinnati forward Amy Mink scored their first goal just after the 59 minute mark to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead over Minnesota.. Midfielder Nickie Luse gave Cincinnati a 2-0 lead with her goal scored at the 78 minute mark. The Bearcats outshot the Gophers with 16 shots, to Minnesota's six.

Julie Eibensteiner of Minnesota managed seven saves versus Cincinnati's Christy Hoffman's nine. Leah Kutcher led the Gophers in shots with a total of three, while three Minnesota players had one apiece.

On Saturday, September 8, the Gophers will take on Brigham Young University at Northwestern at 3:30 p.m.
