Snyder jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first stanza, but Becker escaped to move the score to 2-1. Snyder then escaped to start the second period before a Becker takedown and another Snyder escape. The second period ended with Snyder leading 4-3. Becker tallied the needed escape 10 seconds into the third stanza and the wrestlers went to sudden victory overtime where neither scored. Becker falls to 17-2 overall and 6-1 in dual meets.

At 165 pounds, NU's Tony Denke won 6-5 in sudden victory overtime by way of a Mitch Marr stall warning. Marr was filling in for the injured John Hardy and Nate Baker.
