ROOKIE GOALIES SHARE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AWARD

Reinen was in net for the No. 1 Golden Gophers the first night as Minnesota won 1-0. Reinen stopped all 42 Bulldog shots on goal, her career high in her first year at Minnesota. It was the first shutout Reinen has recorded in her Gopher career. Until Friday night, the Bulldogs had not been shutout in the last 44 games. In the two games against UMD this year, Reinen has a .48 goals against average and had 79 saves. Reinen was in goal when the Gophers tied UMD, 1-1, back in October. She has played in 10 games this year, boasting a 6-1-3 record.

Horak received the starting nod in Saturday's game and picked up where Reinen left off the night before. Horak, also a rookie goalie, had 41 of 42 possible saves to aid Minnesota in the 3-1 victory and sweep over the Bulldogs. The UMD goal came on a power-play opportunity in the first period. After the goal, Horak shutdown the Bulldog offense, including the third period where she stopped 16 shots. Horak in undefeated in goal holding a 9-0-2 record in 11 starts.

The top-ranked Gophers play host to the Findlay Oilers this Saturday and Sunday at Mariucci Arena. Game time is set for 2:05 p.m. starts both days. Sunday's game is televised live on Fox Sports Net.
