InvJunior Andrew Carlson was named Big Ten Co-Runner of the Week announced by the Big Ten office. Carlson won the Jim Drews Invitational and led Minnesota to the team title, defeating defending conference champion Wisconsin. He shares the honor with Michigan State sophomore Chris Toloff who was the top Big Ten finisher at the Pre-NCAA meet.

This is the first time Carlson, a native of Fargo N.D., has received a runner of the week award and also the first time a Golden Gopher has received the award since Will McComb earned the distinction last year.

The 15th-ranked Golden Gophers are next in action on Oct. 27 when they host the Marathon Sports Run at Les Bolstad Golf Course. The race is set to begin at 9:30 a.m. All runners not participating in the Nov. 3 Big Ten meet will be competing.
